I am unable to access TLS Mail port via my server. I have disabled firewall and also added inbound and outbound exceptions for port but still access is denied

Hey Mark,

Are you sure that the server is configured for that service on that port?
What MTA are you making use of?

If the firewall is open, it could mean that the port is not configured for use on the server

Hello

Please bear with me. I am a programmer but profession so the server admin stuff is new to me

My program that I am trying to host on this server needs to connect to a mail server (different server PC hosted elsewhere) on port 995 for TLS

This program I wrote works fine on my own laptop and connects to port 995 on the mail server fine. However when I run the same program on the afrihost server it cant connect to port 995. If I test with port 110 which is not secure it connects fine though

I have run advanced port scanner on the server and can see that port 995 is not open

I have disabled the firewall for all profiles, but this didnt help and I still cant see the port 995 as open. I then re-enabled firewall and added inbound and outbound exceptions for port 995 but still this port is not open

When you ask if the server is configured for that service on that port what do you mean? What service should be configured and how do you do this?

Sorry I am not sure what MTA is?
