In december 2017 I had similar problems and got your bog standard answer " we are working on the problem" 11 months later I am asking the same question and once again got the bog standard answer but with the caviat " cant give you a time".  Every time I use the fixed wireless service during peak time there seems to be a problem. My question is, what are you going to do about this problem.

Hi Doug.

I noted the same for me, but realised it is not with Afrihost that this occures.  I changed my location closer to the centre of the town, and then suddenly my speed jumps up from 1Mb/s to 12Mb/s.  So....  my opinion is that your speed is directly common with the bandwith or network busy area of your location.  Yes. I work from a Mobie Wi-Fi router via cell-phone-card which therefore is directly affected by the cell-phone-towers to communicate via internet.

Thanks for the info, I still have a problem in that in off peak times i get speeds > 20Mbps. Afrihost addmit they have a problem but do nothing about it in the hope that it goes away. If the network is overloaded at peak times then they must increase bandwidth to give the customer what he/she pays for. Nothing more nothing less. I am on their fixed wireless offering.
