Good Day Palesa,

To create a website using Site Builder, please follow the steps below:

  • Open your browser.

  • Navigate to the Afrihost Client Zone (clientzone.afrihost.com/en/

  • This will redirect you to the login page.

  • Enter your client zone Username and Password.

  • Select Login

  • This will take you to the Client Zone home page

  • Click on Hosting

  • Select the domain you want to work with.

  • Click on cPanel

  • Click log into cPanel

  • Select Afrihost Site Builder under Afrihost Extras at the top.

  • This will open Afrihost Site Builder, the first page will show you some of the themes available.

  • If you want to see more theme options, Select Themes on the left-hand side.

  • You will see there are a lot of theme options that you can choose from.

  • Here you can see a theme has already been activated, for the purposes of this video I am going to activate a new theme.

  • Select Activate.

  • At the top of the screen, you will be notified that your new theme has been activated.

  • You can select the Visit site to preview the theme.

  • Scrolling up and down you can see the whole theme.

  • You can go back to edit the theme.

  • On the left-hand side, Select pages and then all pages

  • Now you will see the theme has a few pages already, It has the:

  • Header

  • Footer

  • Home page

  • About page

  • Services page

  • Contact page

  • And the blog page

  • The first two options, the header and the footer, are not pages but sections on all the pages.

  • Now to edit the home page, select the edit icon.

  • Go through the options before you start editing.

  • At the very top left of the page, you will see the name of the application you are using – Site builder.

  • To the right of that, you will see the page you are currently working on.

  • From the drop-down menu, you can select to edit a different page, for example, the About us page and other pages as well.

  • The page title is the name of your page. This can also be edited, for example, if you have a personal blog you can name it About me.

  • The page URL describes the URL name and can also be changed.

  • Here you will see the publish button. This allows you to publish your website to go live online.

  • The update allows you to update any new additions to your published site.

  • Preview allows you to preview your site before publishing any live updates.

  • The Responsive preview allows you to view the site as if it would display when being viewed on a different screen type.

  • As you can see the default view is for a PC screen, but then we click the tablet, you are able to see what it will look like if the site was viewed from a tablet device.

  • When you select the mobile phone, you can see how the website will look when viewing the site from a mobile device.

  • You can go back to the PC view and go back to the edit mode.

  • Ok now edit and customise your website.

  • Edit the header paragraph.

  • Select the element you wish to edit, you will know it is selected when the border lines appear.

  • Now you can remove that text and add your own.

  • Below is a demo paragraph which can be edited as well.

  • Below that is the button element.

  • If you wish to change it, select the element and again you will see the blue border lines appear around it.

Continuation of the answer:

  • You can then edit the text and the elements of the button via the edit box.

  • Change it to contact me instead and hit enter to change it. You will see the button text has changed.

  • The link option links this button to another element on the page or a different page altogether.

  • If you would like that link to open on a new page, select the new Tab option.

  • The icon option allows you to select an icon to have on the button.

  • You can then choose the alignment of the text on the button.
To the right, to the left or stretch it across the page. It's up to you.

  • Now move onto the body of the website.
You can see the heading on the page About Us.

  • You can edit this to whatever you want to call this section.

  • Then to edit the paragraph select the element, again the borders will show you it is selected and then you can edit the text.

  • Then you can move to the next element to edit. The edit box is similar to the one before.
Here you can edit the text and change the font size of the text. You can change the title to Not always available.

  • Here you can see the various font sizes, and you can change the font colours.

  • Below is an example of how do you put in the paragraph text you want:

Ensure the text is enclosed between the paragraph tag.

To open
(open angle bracket, p, close angle bracket)

and to close
(open angle bracket, forward slash, p, close angle bracket.)

  • You can also edit the text by opening the editor box.

  • If you would like to add a button, select Show Button.

  • You can edit all these elements on the page and the process is the same.

  • If there is an element that you wish to delete, select the element and at the top of that page you will see a bin icon, you can select that to delete the object.

  • You can then select another element and at the next to the bin is the option to duplicate it.

  • As you scroll down you can see there are many things that can be edited, we have covered the basics of editing your website using site builder.

  • You are now equipped to start designing your own website.
