DSL being discontinued

+1 vote

Telkom are now saying that all DSL lines are going to be discontinued, and that everyone has to go over to either LTE or Fibre. I'm on a 300gb + 300gb anytime Shaped/Caped dsl line, and it costs R319 per month with Afrihost. If I want anywhere near that on LTE it will be the 220gb + 220gb data which is over R1000, and that's day/night data...

Now what if LTE is too expensive, and there is no Fibre in your area? Will they just one day all of a sudden switch off millions of internet connections?

Does anyone know when this is set to happen, and if there is any chance that it wont happen?

Good day

I trust you are well,

There is no current ETA or Notice from Telkom, ADSL will still be around for a long as Fibre does not cover a lot of areas,

All Afrihost clients will be advised in time.
