What is the possible cause of my fibre unit showing me a sold red light indicated as major alarm?

It depends if the light is flashing fast or slow, this will indicate the problem.

Blinking slowly - The terminal is not connected to optical fibers or does not send optical signals.

Blinking rapidly -  The terminal sends optical signals abnormally.

It wasn't blinking, in my question I said it's a solid red light.
it may indicate an issue with the fibre infrastructure. Here are a few things that you can try:
Check if optical fibre cable connecting the ONT with the External Termination Point (ETP) is not damaged or hasn’t come loose.
Perform a simple reset of the ONT by performing the power cycle, i.e. disconnect the ONT power supply, wait for about five minutes and then reconnect its power supply.

If that doesn't resolve anything - i would get in touch with support
