Good day,
To transfer a domain from your current provider to Afrihost please see the steps below.
For a dummy invoice/ quotation on the costing please advise which hosting package you would like, the prices can be found on our website.
https://www.afrihost.com/site/product/linux_hosting
You will need to first sign up with us. Please navigate through the products in the below URLs for further information and select a product of your choice:
http://www.afrihost.com/site/product/linux_home_hosting
After choosing a package,
1. Click on "Sign Up Now" under the required package
2. In the new page click on "proceed to next step"
3. In the new page provide details asked and once again click on "proceed to next step"
4. In the Domain details page, select "Transfer Domain", enter the domain name and click on "proceed to next step"
5. In this section you can select the "Billing Method", either "Monthly by Credit Card" or "Monthly by Debit Card". Select the required option and fill the required details.
In the step with domain checking, you will need to select transfer. This will submit a transfer request to your current hosting provider. You will need to notify your current hosting provider that you wish to transfer the domain away.
After you have registered the domain name the transfer process will begin. If all is well with the previous hosts the domain can take between 2 days (.co.za) and two weeks (.com) to complete.
You will be given access to our FTP server & Cpanel server so that you can publish your website & create your mailboxes (and databases if any) on our servers once you have signed up. You can upload the files via FTP to the public_html folder(Linux hosting).
After making the website live at our end, you can "accept" the transfer ticket that we will be sending. Or else, the DNS will be updated to us and the site/mails will go down.
By the time the transfer has completed, you should have already a working website & ready mailboxes on our servers.
We will assist with any difficulties you may experience whilst uploading your website & databases.
Or if the previous hosting provider had cPanel, please get a cPanel back-up of your domain. Refer the below link for reference:

Or you can provide the cPanel server IP address, username and password of the remote account.
