I have moved from cell c to telkom, does the same apply?

Telkom is still a Fixed Wireless LTE service.
With Telkom, you now get Anytime Day and Night Time data - Anytime data can be used anytime of the day & Telkom Night Time data is valid from 12am to 6am.

How to set up your Huawei Fixed LTE Device

  1. Connect to your router via LAN cable or Wi-Fi.
  2. Open your internet browser.
  3. Enter 192.168.8.1 into the search bar and hit enter to search.
  4. Select ‘Settings’ on the left-hand side.
  5. Enter the default username name and password.
  6. Select ‘Dial-Up’ option.
  7. Select ‘Profile Management’.
  8. Select ‘New Profile’ and enter the following details:
    Profile Name: Afrihost LTE
    Username and Password: Leave these blank
    IP Type: IPv4
    APN [For Pure (MTN) LTE]: ws.afrihost.fwa (all lower case, no spaces)
    APN [For Telkom LTE]: afrihost (all lower case, no spaces)
  9. Click ‘Save’.

  10. Select the new profile you have created.
  11. Click Save and Apply.

​How to configure the APN on your Huawei 4G Router Lite LTE Device

  1. Connect to your router via LAN cable or Wi-Fi.
  2. Open your internet browser.
  3. Navigate to the routers IP address.
  4. Enter 192.168.8.1 into the search bar and hit enter to search.
  5. Log into the router.
  6. Select ‘Network Settings’ at the top of the page.
  7. On the ‘Internet Connection’ page, scroll drown to the APN list.
  8. Select the ‘Plus’ symbol (+) to create a new APN profile.
  9. Enter the following details:
    Profile Name: Afrihost LTE
    Username and Password: Leave field blank
    IP Type: IPv4
    APN [For Pure (MTN) LTE]: ws.afrihost.fwa (all lower case, no spaces)
    APN [For Telkom LTE]: afrihost (all lower case, no spaces)
  10. Click ‘Save’.
  11. Ensure the new profile created is set to default.
