How do I point a parked domain to a Google Site?

0 votes

I have purchased and parked a domain c/o Afrihost and can edit the DNS via ClientZone and would like to point my parked domain to a Google site, in this way;

www.mydomain.co.za CNAME ghs.googlehosted.com 3600

I have set up the Custom URL in my G Suite Admin > Sites > Custom URL's (as per https://support.google.com/sites/answer/9068867?hl=en)

www.mydomain.co.za > sites.google.com/mydomain.co.za/mysitename

Surely this is enough to point the www.mydomain.co.za correctly.

Afrihost support requires me to upgrade the 'domain parking' to 'domain pointing', or host the domain on a server, which negates the whole point of domain parking. What are the other options here?
