I cannot connect with my mobile account...

I can't seem to connect with my Mifi device Huawei E5220 using the credentials on the back of the device. I just received it and it is won't connect. Please help.

The new MiFi's (E5220) do not come with the Afrihost APN set to default, not even the new LTE ones (E5372)

The APN is there on the device, but not selected as default. So your first trouble-shooting step should be to go to into the device .. Profile management -> "drop down menu for profile name" select Afrihost -> Apply

Simple as that :)

The default gateway I.P for the 3G E5220 is The default gateway I.P for the LTE E5372 is And settings can be changed from there.


If during the trouble-shooting processes FOR 3G MiFi's, you make the client rest the device by holding the reset button, the saved Afrihost APN will be deleted and you'll need to set it up from scratch. This only applies to the E5220.
