Why is payment via EFT such a pain with Afrihost?

Our Department has a structure that only allows EFT payments. Afrihost stated that this is in order and we can proceed, but now it is taking multiple emails and waiting days for answers from Afrihost. They just state that they need to track the payment, but never actually do it. They are just "suggesting" that they can track the payment. They have all the information they need, payment numbers, accounts...Why Afrihost? What happend to your outstanding services? Our only possible method of payment is EFT, so how can we fix this?

Nowa days I see almost all companies going full out online, Like Paypal and card payments, Personally I think EFTs are pretty much becoming really old when it comes to the common person to use, It's also alot of admin as well to make sure payments go through this way and that way. Using a 3rd party for online card payments make it much easier as it elliminates the amount of money and time you spend on Admin for EFT payment processing.

At one time I remember Afrihost allowing EFT, However like I said above, Im sure the reason is the increased Admin.

Hi there.

Unfortunately EFT/cash payment is not a payment option that we offer, this is the reason why we do not advise clients to make an EFT payment. Before we can allocate the payment, the amount needs to reflect in our bank account first which might take up to 72 working hours. If you make an EFT payment and you put in the incorrect reference, it makes it difficult for us to identify who the payment belongs to which is one of the reasons why we don't allow EFT payments anymore. Please forward the correct reference used to make the EFt payment to our accounts department at accounts@afrihost.com so that they can assist you further.

Hi. Our reference is correct and the payment was made more than a week ago. Afrihost promised to call me back after I sent an email and called them. Still nothing. I have been in contact with the accounts department but it is their reaction to my problem that is an unending endeavour of  no communication.

Save yourself the headache and do debit order.

 

EFT is becoming abit outdated as the process is painfully slow from bank to bank.
