Cannot connect to SSH

0 votes

I am having trouble connecting to my client's server VIA SSH.

What username do I use?

I have WHM access and in cPanel I have created a Private Public Key pair.

I've downloaded the SSH Private Key and tried to connect using a terminal client but have not been successful.

I've tried using both usernames assigned to the WHM account but was still not successful.

Please assist. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I need a different or access enabled on your side username or something?

Ultimately I am needing to edit the my.ini file for my MySQL so I can change some of the collation and locale settings needed for the application I am running.

Good day

SSH is disabled by default, the primary account holder of the domain will need to send a request to to have jailed shell enabled.

To access you will need to use the following command:
ssh ftpuser@domainname -p24  or
ssh ftpuser@serverIPAddress -p24

Password would be your Cpanel password

You can also update your php.ini files in MultiPHP INI Editor under Cpanel

  • In cPanel, scroll down and Under the ‘Software’ section select ‘MultiPHP INI Editor ’.
  • Under Configure PHP INI basic settings click the dropdown menu that says — Select a location —
  • Select the domain you would like to make changes to
  • When finished making changes, click Apply

Please also find a helpful link on 'How to update your domain PHP version'

One major difference present in all these services is that Yahoo Mail allows you to create multiple individual identities under a single account while Hotmail offers only one personal identity per account. The best online writing services share some quick tips about this as well that helps you.
