How can I get telkom to upgrade my exchange?

+4 votes
I am moving to a new house at the the end of January. Currently I have a 10mb and very happy with it. Unfortunately, my new address only goes up to 2mb. I have spoken with telkom in regards to this and they basically gave me the finger. Is there anything I can use to "motivate" them to upgrade my exchange? It's almost 2015 surely a max of 2mb should be scandalous? Thanks

Hi Marcel

The best way to go about it is to show Telkom that there's a demand requesting the exchange upgrade by organizing a petition where at least 80% of the people connected on the same exchange will sign. Telkom will consider and schedule an upgrade for your exchange. This upgrade could take 6 month or more before it is done. Please contact Telkom for further assistance about the exchange upgrade. Another thing you could find out is if there's another exchange in the same area that can support the speed that you want.

I hope this answers your question.

HI Marcel

I hope you are well. There is also a valuable resource on the below link where you can begin the petition as well as sign up for notifications of upgrades done on your exchange.

Hope this helps
