Are you sure it's port 43 or 443? Port 443 is already open by default for use with SSL.

We do not allow any firewall changes on Shared Hosting. The rules that have been set are to make sure that everyone on all Shared Hosting servers are secured. Making changes on the firewall on Shared Hosting could other's who share the same server with you at risk.

Firewalls help if you have to deal with less security aware users/administrators as they would provide second line of defence. Without them one has to be absolutely sure that hosts are secure, which requires good security understanding from all administrators.

To have these changes done, you would need to sign up for a Cloud/Physical Dedicated server. We will gladly assist with these requests on these platforms. You will be able to request the firewall changes and manage the traffic on the changes made.
