Greetings :)

In connection with selling a domian ( website ) all that you will need to do is let the person that is wanting to purchase it contact you and sign up a document that allows you to sell it to the person that is wanting to buy it.

At the end of the day a domain or website is a legal entity thus you need to draw up a contract.

Once you have "sold" the domain, you will need to transfer the domain to their afrihost account or their hosting company that they choose.

If the domain is with afrihost and they have a afrihost account, please follow the below steps or if you are needing to move it somewhere else:

The 3 possible domain ownership changes are:

1) Either the change is to another person that has an Afrihost account and will host the domain with Afrihost;
2) Or the change is to another person that does not have an Afrihost account and will host the domain with Afrihost;
3) Or the change is to another person that will host the domain with a host that is not Afrihost.

We will explain the steps for each of the scenarios.

1) The change is to another person that has an Afrihost account and will host the domain with Afrihost:
1A)Steps for the Current Owner to perform.
-The Current Owner will need to log into the OLD ClientZone.
-Click on My Products and then My Domains and Hosting.
-Select the option at the bottom right to Give Domain.
-Make sure to select the checkbox for the domain that want to Give to the New Owner ONLY.
-Type in the New Owners email address (NB - The email that they use to log into ClientZone).
-Click start process, this will send the New Owner an email with an authorization code.

1B)Steps for the New Owner to perform
-The New Owner will need to get the authorization code from their email.
-Then log into the OLD ClientZone and go to My Products then My Domains and Hosting.
-Click on the Gain Domain on the bottom right.
-Insert the authorization code and select the payment option and click on Change Ownership.
-Smile, because you are the new owner of the domain :)

2) The change is to another person that does not have an Afrihost account and will host the domain with Afrihost;
In order for the domain to change ownership to the New Owner, they would need to be on our system.
To get on our system they would need to complete the following form: https://clientzone.afrihost.com/en/new-client

2A)Steps for the Current Owner to perform.

2B)Steps for the New Owner to perform
-The New Owner will need to get the authorization code from their email.
-Then log into the OLD ClientZone and go to My Products then My Domains and Hosting.
-Click on the Gain Domain on the bottom right.
-Insert the authorization code and select the payment option and click on Change Ownership.
-Smile, because you are the new owner of the domain :)

3) The change is to another person that will host the domain with a host that is not Afrihost.
3A)Steps for the Current Owner to perform.
-The Current Owner will need to log into the OLD ClientZone. (This can also be done from the NEW ClientZone)
-Click on My Products and then My Domains and Hosting.
-Click on the Red "X" marked as Cancel account to the right of the domain.
-Complete the Reason for Leaving.
-Then select the Radio button marked, "Please accept a transfer ticket on my behalf." and fill in the name of the New provider.
-Accept the terms and conditions after reading them and click on the Submit Cancellation Request button.
Now when the New provider sends the transfer request, if the domain is paid up and authorized for transfer, the transfer request will be accepted.
