Help with New ADSL Sign Up

Good day, I just moved to a new apartment in lonehill. I have been using  afrihost mobile but would like to use adsl home. There is a telkom line jack with a dual connection points in the unit.  Now I tried to sign up but i have noticed that  you require a telephone number which I don't have or do not know what it is.  I am also not sure if the line was used for internet before or not. Do I apply for a new number from Telkom and the transfer it over to you? Regards,

Good day Anonymous,

You have to have a Telkom line installed before you can use Afrihost's services. You have more than once choice, though. You could either just get the voice line installed, and get the ADSL installed by Afrihost for free (14-30 working day waiting period), or you can install the ADSL line directly through Telkom.

If you do that, you have another decision to make. You can either leave the line with Telkom and just get data through Afrihost, our you can move the line to Afrihost. This process takes 7-14 working days, but your line does not go off in the process. Afrihost do not charge for the migration. Your costs will be the monthly line rental that will be paid to Afrihost instead of Telkom.

This does NOT include the voice line, which will always stay with Telkom.

Hi there

In order to sign up for Afrihost ADSL line management, existing Afrihost clients will have to request this via Client Zone. This can be done via Connectivity > Sign up New Connectivity Package > Select DSL Lines.

New clients will need to sign up via our website:

Please proceed to

1) Click on ADSL > ADSL lines tab

2)Proceed with sign up

3) Order ADSL line (Either new ADSL line or transfer of existing ADSL line from Telkom)

4) Complete the sign up (Billing details, contact details etc...)

We will then process your order.

Please note that you will be charged a pro-rata billing when your line has
been transferred to us, this process usually takes 10-14 days.

If you receive a charge from Telkom for your line, they should
issue a refund after you are successfully transferred.

If you have any existing products (Data packages etc…) with Telkom
and would like these cancelled, you will need to carry this out directly
with Telkom.

Please note that you are still liable to pay Telkom for the Voice Line Rental, monthly, as per Telkom's terms and conditions for voice line rental.

I am currently a customer using your mobile data packages.  I will request the line from Telkom and then proceed with you for dsl.
