This highly depends on your Operating system, so I will list the most widely used Operating Systems:

Windows: http://goo.gl/voFgd3  You will find a picture walkthrough but the most critical bit of information is that trace route can be done through your command prompt and you will follow a format: tracert IPAddress or tracert HostName at the command prompt.

Mac: There's also a GUIfied utility in /Applications/Utilities/Network Utility.app that has traceroute built in.

With out sounding rude, this can be typed into Google and in 5min or less you would have an answer. :) No need to wait for a reply etc :)

Some people enjoy asking in other ways :)
Fair enough, Im also a very inquisitive mind (you have to be in IT) but in terms of getting a fast answer, Google is your best friend. :) If you want some nice websites, check out howtogeek.com / maximumpc.com and technibble.com .

I'v used these every day for year to build up a vast knowledge base. :)

All the best!
That's is right!
