What do I do after I've registered for ADSL online

+2 votes
Good evening.

So I've signed up online to have my home connected. What is the next step and how long will I have to wait for my home to be connected?

Hey there

You will receive an sms to send your ID/drivers license copy to Afrihost for verification.

Once they receive it and activate your account you will be notified and you can use the ADSL as soon as your user details are on the modem.

i am assuming that your ADSL line is enabled and working fine.

Hi Anon,

Have you signed up for a Telkom connection yet?

This should be your first step. Sign up for your desired line speed, pay the line rental fee, as well as the compulsory, completely unnecessary, Telkom voice line rental fee, and hope that there will be a Telkom technician to help you by installing the physical line to your premises before ADSL becomes obsolete in about 20 years. Thereafter, IMMEDIATELY migrate your Telkom line to Afrihost - having them deal with Telkom on your behalf is always a win- by purchasing a bundle (ADSL + Data).

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thank you so much. I've done all that. I was told to wait for the Telekom like to be converted to a  ADSL line and that it could take up to 30 days for that to be done.
