Grand Prize - Mobile Wifi Powerbank - Questions

+3 votes
If you don't use the powerbank to charge a device, what kind of usage hours can one expect from it if you only use it as a wifi hotspot?

How do you check your available data on the Mobile Wifi Powerbank?

Can you plug it into a desktop PC (which dont have wifi) and also use it as a modem?

Hey Piesang

Great questions :)

The device has a standaby time of 16 hours, so it will depend on how it's being used. Remember that some areas where there is weak signal (or convergance of multiple cell towers) can drain battery life faster. The number of connected devices will also affect battery life.

Checking your data usage will be as usual in ClientZone. The device itself will also record some usage stats.

You should be able to use the device as a USB "dongle". It may require that you download firmware to your PC to allow you to do this.

Hi Piesang

The Huawei E5730 device can hold onto charge for several days altogether and with full power it can recharge a smartphone of about 2000 mAh for about 4 times. It has an Ethernet port, that can connect Ethernet cable to support multiple WiFi-enabled terminals to access internet.  You can also connect the device directly into the PC and use it as a modem. To check on your mobile i would suggest that you download and install our Mobile App onto your mobile device and you will be able to check your data balance from there. Another way would be by going through client zone undder connectivity.

The Mobile app only works with Afrihost Data.  What if I use my MTN DATA SIM?
