Which account type do I need to sign up for to transfer an existing account to my name?

I would like to transfer the domain to my name from Warrick Meyer's name and change the email address to mine as well.

Good day,

I trust you are well :)

There are three scenarios when changing the ownership of a domain. Due to LEGAL reasons since a domain is a legal entity, this cannot be done on your behalf by an Afrihost staff member, however we are more than happy to help with any step along the way.

The 3 possible domain ownership changes are:

1) Either the change is to another person that has an Afrihost account and will host the domain with Afrihost;
2) Or the change is to another person that does not have an Afrihost account and will host the domain with Afrihost;
3) Or the change is to another person that will host the domain with a host that is not Afrihost.

We will explain the steps for each of the scenarios.

You can only complete these change out side of our billing run process. From the 5th of every month to the 25th of every month. Out side of the period we lock change so that clients are billed correctly.

1) The change is to another person that has an Afrihost account and will host the domain with Afrihost:
1A)Steps for the Current Owner to perform.
- Log into their Client Zone
- Select Hosting
- Select Domain Ownership
- Select Give Domain
- Select the Domains to Transfer
- Type in the Email Address

1B)Steps for the New Owner to perform
- The New Owner will need to get the authorization code from their email.
- Log into their Client Zone
- Select Hosting
- Select Domain Ownership
- Select Gain Domain
- Insert the codes
- Complete the Transfer
-Smile, because you are the new owner of the domain :)

2) The change is to another person that does not have an Afrihost account and will host the domain with Afrihost;
In order for the domain to change ownership to the New Owner, they would need to be on our system.
To get on our system they would need to complete the following form: https://clientzone.afrihost.com/en/new-client

2A)Steps for the Current Owner to perform.
- Log into their Client Zone
- Select Hosting
- Select Domain Ownership
- Select Give Domain
- Select the Domains to Transfer
- Type in the Email Address

2B)Steps for the New Owner to perform
- The New Owner will need to get the authorization code from their email.
- Log into their Client Zone
- Select Hosting
- Select Domain Ownership
- Select Gain Domain
- Insert the codes
- Complete the Transfer
-Smile, because you are the new owner of the domain :)


3) The change is to another person that will host the domain with a host that is not Afrihost.
3A)Steps for the Current Owner to perform.
-The Current Owner will need to log into the OLD ClientZone. (This can also be done from the NEW ClientZone)
-Click on My Products and then My Domains and Hosting.
-Click on the Red "X" marked as Cancel account to the right of the domain.
-Complete the Reason for Leaving.
-Then select the Radio button marked, "Please accept a transfer ticket on my behalf." and fill in the name of the New provider.
-Accept the terms and conditions after reading them and click on the Submit Cancellation Request button.
Now when the New provider sends the transfer request, if the domain is paid up and authorized for transfer, the transfer request will be accepted.
