What is the difference between a Dynamic I.P and a Static I.P?

More specifically, what are the advantages / uses of each?

Dynamic IP changes mostly everytime you make a connection to your router and Static IP is the reserved for your connection and it does not change.

Thanks for the response. But why choose Static over Dynamic or vice versa? In which cases do you need a Static IP?
Most people use a static IP for VPN connection. You get the dynamic IP by default with any ISP. Choosing any of the two would depend on what you are trying to achieve. If its just a simple internet connection, you will get Dynamic IP but if you want to do more like host a mail exchange, VPN, gaming server etc, You would need a static IP.
