Hey Justin

Afrihost has a range of connectivity products, from ADSL through fibre to mobile.

The area where one would need to know about the strength of connectivity signal is mobile.

I would recommend you search the specific area you want on the coverage map link below :

Different sections ina general area may have different signal strengths so the more specific you are the better.

Afrihost voice and mobile data use MTN's network - the Afrihost signal in Strand is as strong as the MTN signal.  As your friends how they find MTN's signal quality, and that will give you a great idea.  When you use Afrihost data, the data goes over a different path after the cellular network, so your friends' experience may be a little different, unless they are also using Afrihost.  You can get yourself a MTN prepaid sim card and try things out a bit - and sign up for a small package with Afrihost if you just want a taste.
